An interesting game for Yesilgiresun (21-9) which hosted in Giresun second-best Trabzonspor (20-10). Third ranked Yesilgiresun managed to get a 9-point victory 77-68. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Trabzonspor. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Trabzonspor trailed by 19 points at halftime and as many as 21 after three quarters before a 29-17 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 68-77 at the end of the game. Yesilgiresun made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Trabzonspor helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) who led his team to a victory with 32 points and 6 assists. The other American import center John Ofoegbu (206-84, college: Idaho St.) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Khalid El-Amin (178-79, college: Connecticut) replied with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Croatian center Jurica Zuza (207-78, agency: Alti Sport) added 15 points in the effort for Trabzonspor. Trabzonspor's coach Hasan Ozmeric rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Yesilgiresun moved-up to second place. Trabzonspor at the other side dropped to the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Selcuk Univ. and Maliye Milli. Yesilgiresun are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Izmir BSB (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Trabzonspor will play against Akhisar Bld (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
