Regular Season Round 24: Antalya - Besiktas 83-90
Date: March 31, 2013
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Besiktas (14-10) beat on the road 15th ranked Antalya (5-19) 90-83 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Antalya won second period 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Besiktas won last quarter 26-20. The winners were led by the former international guard Tutku Acik (194-80) who scored that evening 20 points and 7 assists and American swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St.) supported him with 14 points. Besiktas' coach Erman Kunter used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds by Montenegrin-Serbian center Vladimir Golubovic (213-86, agency: Beo Basket) did not help to save the game for Antalya. American point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) added 12 points and 12 assists. Five Besiktas and four Antalya players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 14-10 record. Loser Antalya keeps the fifteenth place with 19 games lost. Besiktas will meet at home Aliaga (#10) in the next round. Antalya will play against Karsiyaka (#5) and hope to secure a win.
