Very expected game when 7th ranked TED Kolejliler (12-12) lost to third ranked Anadolu Efes (20-4) in Istanbul 67-85 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Anadolu Efes. TED Kolejliler managed to win third quarter 23-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to TED Kolejliler's 32. Anadolu Efes forced 24 TED Kolejliler turnovers. The winners were led by American swingman Joshua Shipp (196-86, college: UCLA) who scored that evening 21 points and Serbian Dusko Savanovic (204-83, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Anadolu Efes' coach Oktay Mahmudi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 26 points and 5 rebounds by Serbian center Jovo Stanojevic (208-77, agency: Beo Basket) did not help to save the game for TED Kolejliler. New Zealand guard Kirk Penney (196-80, college: Wisconsin, agency: Duran International) added 23 points and 4 assists. Anadolu Efes have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Fener.Ulker and Banvit BK. Newly promoted TED Kolejliler keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Anadolu Efes will meet Mersin (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TED Kolejliler will play against Olin Edirne (#14) and hope to secure a win.
