Fourteenth-ranked Farul Const. (7-23) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Timisoara (20-10) in Constanca on Tuesday. The visitors from Timisoara managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Farul Const. was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 25-17 charge of Timisoara, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Devan Downey (175-87, college: S.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 17 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Marian Minea (203-85) with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Spanish forward Angel Santana (198-77, college: St.Francis, NY) scored 16 points. Farul Const.'s coach Costel Cernat rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Timisoara moved-up to fifth place, which they share with U.Mobitel.CN and Gaz Metan. Newly promoted Farul Const. keeps the fourteenth position with 23 games lost.
