Regular Season Round 27: Pieno Zvaigzdes - Neptunas 87-76

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Neptunas (15-4) against fifth ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes (11-8) on Tuesday night. Visiting Neptunas was defeated by Pieno Zvaigzdes in Pasvalys 87-76. It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of Neptunas. The game was mostly controlled by Pieno Zvaigzdes. Neptunas was better in fourth quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (183-87, college: Wisconsin, agency: Edge Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 steals. American forward Tyrell Biggs (203-86, college: Pittsburgh) helped adding 15 points. Four Pieno Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Deividas Gailius (200-88) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Neptunas' coach Kazys Maksvytis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pieno Zvaigzdes moved-up to third place, which they share with Siauliai and Juventus. Neptunas at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Rudupis. Pieno Zvaigzdes will play against LSU-Baltai (#10) in Kaunas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Neptunas will play at home against Nevezis (#8) in Kedainiai and hopes to get back on the winning track.
