There was a small surprise in Tuebingen where tenth ranked Walter Tigers (15-16) beat 8th ranked Telekom Baskets (15-14) 80-74. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-10. But Telekom Baskets won second period 23-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Walter Tigers won last quarter 24-19. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Johannes Lischka (203-87, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). American center Kenny Frease (213-89, college: Xavier) accounted for 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Five Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. American forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) added 15 points respectively for Telekom Baskets in the defeat. Walter Tigers maintains tenth place with 15-16 record. Telekom Baskets at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. Walter Tigers' next round opponent will be TBB Trier (#13) on the road.
