Regular Season Round 32: Telekom Baskets - Fraport SKY 81-75

Date: April 13, 2013
Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (13-19) lost to ninth ranked Telekom Baskets (16-14) in Bonn 75-81 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 45-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Telekom Baskets made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) who scored that evening 22 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Five Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pro One Sports) did not help to save the game for Deutsche Bank Skyliners. Center Johannes Voigtmann (208-92) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Telekom Baskets maintains ninth position with 16-14 record. Loser Deutsche Bank Skyliners keep the fourteenth place with 19 games lost. Telekom Baskets will meet league's second-placed EWE Baskets in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against TBB Trier (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
