Important game to mention about took place in Odessa. Sixth ranked Tornado (16-17) saved a 1-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers VolinBasket (18-15) 71-70 on Saturday evening. Forward Oleksandr Gudkov (204-90) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Sergey Lapenko (196-85) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. Tornado's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side power forward Vadim Reka (206-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Anatoli Dubnyuk (202-76) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four VolinBasket players scored in double figures. Tornado moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pulsar. VolinBasket at the other side keeps the fourth position with 15 games lost. Tornado will again play against higher ranked VolinBasket (#4) in Lutsk in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. VolinBasket will have a break next round.
