Date: April 14, 2013
Very expected game when 11th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (13-18) lost at home to second ranked EWE Baskets (22-8) 78-72 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-16. But Eisbaeren Bremerhaven won second period 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. EWE Baskets made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri, agency: Pro One Sports) who scored that evening 26 points and the former international forward Konrad Wysocki (201-82, college: Princeton, agency: Pro One Sports) supported him with 7 points and 5 rebounds. EWE Baskets' coach Sebastian Machowski used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 17 points by American point guard Stanley Burrell (191-84) did not help to save the game for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. His fellow American import guard Stefon Jackson (196-85, college: UTEP) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. EWE Baskets have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 22-8 record having just two points less than leader Brose Bask. Loser Eisbaeren Bremerhaven keeps the eleventh place with 18 games lost.
