Second Stage Round 8: Burhaniye Bld - Balcova 78-65

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Balikesir where sixth ranked Burhaniye Bld (7-16) defeated 5th ranked Balcova (9-17) 78-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Burhaniye Bld. Balcova was better in fourth quarter 22-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Balcova 49-33 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Burhaniye Bld looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Hande Celebi (-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Safak Deniz (-94) who added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Mukaddis Aksoy (-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Sinem Kafali (-94) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Balcova's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Burhaniye Bld maintains sixth position in Group E with 7-16 record. Balcova lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 17 games lost. Burhaniye Bld will face league's leader Altay Konak in Izmir in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Balcova's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Izmir Izmir BSB.
