Second Stage Round 8: Sirince - Botas 74-72

Date: April 22, 2013
The most exciting game of round 8 in the TKB2L took place in Hatay. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Botas (20-4) to fourth ranked Sirince (15-11) 74-72 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Botas. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 26-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Botas outrebounded Sirince 52-32 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Irem Tulgar (-90) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and center Melike Yalcinkaya (189-93) who added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Center Tilbe Senyurek (188-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and Busra Akgun (183-93) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Botas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Sirince maintains fourth position in Group F with 15-11 record. Botas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the second place with four games lost. Sirince are looking forward to face 55 Genclik (#6) in Samsun in the next round. Botas will play at home against Gure (#3) in Balikesir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
