Regular Season Round 28: Erdemir - Besiktas 77-92

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Erdemir (11-17) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Besiktas (17-10) 92-77. The game was mostly controlled by Besiktas. Erdemir was better in fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by Slovenian power forward Gasper Vidmar (211-87) who scored that evening 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Tutku Acik (194-80) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Besiktas' coach Erman Kunter allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by American swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll.) did not help to save the game for Erdemir. Slovenian forward Jure Balazic (204-80) added 10 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Besiktas have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 17-10 record. Erdemir at the other side keeps the ninth place with 17 games lost. Besiktas' next round opponent will be TED Kolejliler (#7) in Ankara. Erdemir will play on the road against Karsiyaka.
