An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Edirne. Second ranked Edirne faced 3rd placed Bursa BSB. Host Edirne (23-4) defeated guests from Bursa (18-7) 80-64. It looked good early as Bursa BSB took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Edirne had a 21-11 second period charge getting the lead and Bursa BSB was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-80. Edirne shot 26 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Bursa BSB only scored five points from the stripe. Edirne forced 20 Bursa BSB turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Bursa BSB helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Susan Lester (188-88, college: Butler) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and guard Nebahat Ceylan Emre (172-85) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Edirne players scored in double figures. American center Whitney Jones (183-87, college: Arkansas) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and forward Dilek Bicer (183-83) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Bursa BSB in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Edirne have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group E with 23-4 record having just two points less than leader Cankaya. Bursa BSB at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Edirne's next round opponent will be league's leader Altay Konak in Izmir and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bursa BSB will play at home against Balcova in Izmir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
