Regular Season Round 1: Ankara DSI Era - Gelisim 97-80

Ankara DSI Era used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Izmir 97-80 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Ankara DSI Era. Gelism was better in fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Gelism 33-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. Swingman Hakan Erol (200-83) stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners and Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. Five Ankara DSI Era players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Arif Erhan Kocamis (196-86) responded with 14 points and guard Sertay Gursu (195-87) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ankara DSI Era will face Yesilgiresun in Giresun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gelism will play at home against Maliye Milli.
