An interesting game took place in Istanbul where Final Genclik (0-1) was upset on the court of Istanbul B.B. (1-0) 88-67 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Istanbul B.B.. Final Genclik was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Final Genclik 42-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Guard Recep Dogrusoz (192-86) stepped up and scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Istanbul B.B. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Robert McKiver (191-84, college: Houston, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 16 points and forward Oguzhan Sungur (201-91) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Istanbul B.B. will face Vestel in Manisa in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Final Genclik will play at home against Pertevniyal.
