Regular Season Round 3: Telekom Bsk - Vechta 96-83

Telekom Bsk used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Vechta 96-83. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Telekom Bsk's pressure prevailed and they won that period 29-22 extending their advantage to 13 points. Telekom Bsk shot 28 for 39 from the free-throw line, while SC Rasta Vechta only scored nine points from the stripe. Strangely SC Rasta Vechta outrebounded Telekom Bsk 42-28 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Ryan Brooks (193-88, college: Temple, agency: Pro One Sports) who scored 20 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) chipped in 24 points. Four Telekom Bsk players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Marcus Neal (196-86, college: Delaware St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international center Dirk Madrich (212-83, agency: Court Side) added 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Telekom Bsk's next round opponent will be ratiopharm Ulm on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. SC Rasta Vechta will play against Phoenix Hagen.
