Regular Season Round 4: Vaerlose - SISU 81-80

Date: October 9, 2013
Very important is a road loss of third ranked SISU (2-1) against tenth ranked Vaerlose (1-2) on Wednesday night. Visiting SISU was edged by Vaerlose in a tough game in Vaerlose 80-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SISU. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But SISU won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American guard Troy Brewer (196-89, college: American) who scored that evening 25 points and 4 assists and Icelandic Axel Karason (194-83) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by American center Zack Moritz (210-88, college: Boise St.) did not help to save the game for SISU. His fellow American import swingman Mickey Dennis (190-78, college: JMU) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vaerlose left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser SISU keeps the third position with one game lost. They share it with Svendborg. Vaerlose will meet Falcon (#5) on the road in the next round. SISU will play against Svendborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
