The most surprising game was a loss of New Yorker Phantoms (2-1) on the court of BBC Bayreuth on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by BBC Bayreuth 73-49. The game without a history. BBC Bayreuth led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. BBC Bayreuth outrebounded New Yorker Phantoms 36-24 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Ronnie Burrell (204-83, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Pro One Sports) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican point guard Kevin Hamilton (193-84, college: Holy Cross) contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Four BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. American guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) answered with 10 points and 8 rebounds and Cameroonian forward Harding NaNa (203-81, college: Delaware) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for New Yorker Phantoms. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BBC Bayreuth is looking forward to face Bayern Muenchen on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. New Yorker Phantoms will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven and are hoping to win this game.
