Not a big story in a game in Oldenburg where 14th ranked TBB Trier (1-3) was defeated by top-ranked EWE Baskets (3-0) 81-75 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. TBB Trier trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 25-18 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 75-81 at the end of the game. EWE Baskets made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by TBB Trier's players. EWE Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Phoenix Hagen. Loser TBB Trier dropped to the thirteenth position with three games lost. EWE Baskets will face BBC Bayreuth (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. TBB Trier will play against Walter Tigers (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
