Regular Season Round 2: Gussing - Gmunden 90-86

Date: October 12, 2013
Very important is a road loss of Gmunden Swans (1-1) against Gussing Knights (2-0) on Saturday night. Visiting Gmunden Swans were defeated by Gussing Knights in a tough game in Gussing 86-90. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-86. Gussing Knights forced 26 Gmunden Swans turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) notched 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and international forward Sebastian Koch (202-88) supported him with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 20 points and 5 assists by American point guard Jonathan Lee (188-90, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) did not help to save the game for Gmunden Swans. His fellow American import forward George Valentine (203-88, college: Winthrop, agency: Blacktop Management) added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gussing Knights will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gmunden Swans will play against Redwell Gunners Oberwart.
