Regular Season Round 6: Svendborg - Naestved 90-77

Date: October 16, 2013
Rather expected game when 6th ranked Naestved (2-3) was defeated on the road by third ranked Svendborg (4-1) 90-77. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. Naestved was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. American point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) notched 31 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and international guard Kristoffer Gertz (193-94) supported him with 27 points. Four Svendborg players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds by British power forward Liam Potter (213-86, college: Sacred Heart) did not help to save the game for Naestved. Spanish point guard Sergio Guardia (188-88) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Svendborg maintains third position with 4-1 record having just -1 point less than leader Bakken. Naestved at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Svendborg will play against Horsholm (#6) at home in the next round. Naestved will play against Horsens IC in Horsens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
