Regular Season Round 2: BC Odessa - Hoverla 73-76

A very close game took place in Odesa between Hoverla and BC Odesa. Hoverla (2-1) got a very close victory on the road over BC Odesa (1-1). Hoverla managed to escape with a 3-point win 76-73 on Thursday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-73. The best player for the winners was American forward Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St.) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import point guard Eugene Lawrence (184-86, college: St.John's, agency: Two Points) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. The former international center Stanislav Balashov (210-79) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American guard Terrell Everett (193-84, college: Oklahoma) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Hoverla and five BC Odesa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hoverla will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Odesa will play against Ferro-ZNTU (#7) in Zaporozhye and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
