Very expected game when 8th ranked Zalgiris II (3-4) lost to fourth ranked TiuMenas-Ezer. (6-2) in Moletai 64-72 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Zalgiris II won fourth quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Zalgiris II 35-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. Center Marius Janisius (203-77) nailed 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard Tomas Gaidamavicius (191-82) accounted for 15 points. point guard Lukas Lekavicius (176-94) came up with 21 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and center Nerijus Barauskas (207-92) added 8 points respectively for Zalgiris II in the defeat. TiuMenas-Ezer. moved-up to third place, which they share with JAZZ-KTU. Loser Zalgiris II dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. TiuMenas-Ezer. will meet Triobet (#6) in the next round. Zalgiris II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas JAZZ-KTU.
