Regular Season Round 1: Kirovograd - Dnepr 114-78
Date: October 20, 2013
Kirovograd used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Dnepropetrovsk 114-78. The game without a history. Kirovograd led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Dnepr's 34 and made 25-of-32 charity shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Kirovograd forced 22 Dnepr turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Dnepr helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for center Stanislav Alekseychuk (214-87) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard DeAndre Mays (188-87, college: Youngstown St., agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Andriy Myronenko (198-94) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Maksym Zakurdarev (193-93) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Dnepr. Five Kirovograd and four Dnepr players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kirovograd's next round opponent will be Koksokh-Stal (#15) in Alchevsk which should be another easy win for them. Dnepr will play on the road against Musson in Symferopil and hope to win that game.
