No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked TSV 1880 Wasserburg (3-1) beat at home 7th ranked Oberhausen (1-3) 64-57. It looked good early as Oberhausen took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then TSV 1880 Wasserburg had a 19-9 second period charge getting the lead and Oberhausen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-64. TSV 1880 Wasserburg forced 23 Oberhausen turnovers. American Emma Cannon (187-89, college: Cent.Florida) fired 9 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. The other American import Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) chipped in 18 points. Fijian guard Valerie Nainima (168-86, college: S.Carolina) produced 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Birte Thimm (180-87) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Osnabruck and Chemnitz. Oberhausen at the other side keeps the seventh position with three games lost. TSV 1880 Wasserburg's next round opponent will be Don Bosco Bamberg (#7) on the road.
