Regular Season Round 4: P.Zvaigzdes - Siauliai 71-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Siauliai's (1-4) road loss to seventh ranked P.Zvaigzdes (2-2) 65-71 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 14-8. But Siauliai won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when P.Zvaigzdes won last quarter 18-13. Worth to mention a great performance of center Egidijus Dimsa (205-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-85) who added 19 points during the contest. Four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. P.Zvaigzdes' coach Rimantas Grigas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Jud Dillard (196-91, college: Tenn Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St.) scored 13 points. P.Zvaigzdes moved-up to sixth place. Siauliai lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. P.Zvaigzdes will meet Juventus (#8) in the next round. Siauliai will play against Zalgiris and hope to win that game.
