Regular Season Round 4: ICIM Arad - Targoviste 73-69

Very expected game when 6th ranked CSM Targoviste (2-2) was defeated on the road by top-ranked ICIM Arad (4-0) 73-69 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. CSM Targoviste was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 20-10 charge of ICIM Arad, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Laura Broomfield (185-90, college: N.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and guard Monica Engelman (180, college: Kansas) who added 25 points (made all of her ten free throws !!!) during the contest. At the losing side guard Britney Jones (172-87, college: UAB) responded with 18 points and 5 assists and center Jenna Smith (191-88, college: Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Four CSM Targoviste players scored in double figures. ICIM Arad have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Alexandria. Loser CSM Targoviste keeps the sixth place with two games lost. ICIM Arad will face Rapid (#7) in Bucuresti in the next round where they are favorite. CSM Targoviste will play at home against the league's leader Alexandria and hope to win that game.
