Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (4-2) defeated 13th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (2-4) in Frankfurt 90-78. EnBW Ludwigsburg dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Deutsche Bank Skyliners' 26 and made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Deutsche Bank Skyliners 37-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard C.J. Harris (191-91, college: Wake Forest) who scored 26 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). The other American import Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Kevin Bright (196-92, college: Vanderbilt) who recorded 23 points and Danilo Barthel (207-91) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to fifth place, which they share with NY Phantoms and Brose Bask. Deutsche Bank Skyliners at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg's next round opponent will be higher ranked EWE Baskets (#4) in Oldenburg and it may be quite challenging game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play on the road against TBB Trier (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
