Regular Season Round 8: Zalgiris II - Silute 94-97

The most exciting game of round 8 in the NKL took place in Kaunas. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked Zalgiris II (3-4) to fifth ranked Silute (5-3) 97-94 on Saturday evening. Silute outrebounded Zalgiris II 37-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Zalgiris II helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Eivydas Molosciakas (185-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 5 assists. Center Edgaras Sosnovskis (205-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Five Silute players scored in double figures. Forward Donatas Tarolis (202-94) replied with 28 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Lukas Lekavicius (176-94) added 13 points and 14 assists in the effort for Zalgiris II. Silute maintains fifth position with 5-3 record. Zalgiris II at the other side dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. Silute are looking forward to face Nafta Univers. (#13) in Klaipeda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zalgiris II will play on the road against Zanavykas (#11) in Sakiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
