Very significant was Neftochimic's (#3, 2-0) victory against Beroe (0-1) 86-69. The game was mostly controlled by Neftochimic. Beroe managed to win fourth quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Neftochimic forced 23 Beroe turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Lauren Bell (172-90, college: Pepperdine) who had a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Maria Zhelyazkova (181-86, agency: Promotex) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Neftochimic's coach Peter Marinov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Vera Perostiyska (195-82, college: FIU) produced 23 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Ivelina Vrancheva (175-80) added 13 points and 10 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Neftochimic and four Beroe players scored in double figures. Neftochimic will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Beroe will play against Haskovo 2012 (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
