Very important is a road loss of second ranked Goettingen (3-2) against eleventh ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (2-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Goettingen was defeated by Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel in a tough game in Wolfenbuettel 68-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Goettingen. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-12. But Goettingen won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Goettingen outrebounded Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel 42-29 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Iwalani Rodrigues (175, college: Utah) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Forward Carolin Christen (174-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Polish forward Klaudia Grudzien (183-90) answered with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Rickiesha Bryant (190-90, college: Tenn-Martin) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Goettingen. Goettingen's coach Jennifer Kerns rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with 5 other teams. Goettingen at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Hannover and Gruenberg. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will play against higher ranked Hannover (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Goettingen will play against Lichterfelde and hopes to get back on the winning track.
