Regular Season Round 5: Viernheim - Weiterstadt 65-44

Everything went according to plan in Viernheim where seventh ranked TSV Amicitia (3-2) outleveled 10th ranked Weiterstadt (1-4) 65-44 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-44. TSV Amicitia dominated on the defensive end, holding Weiterstadt to just 6 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Weiterstadt's 30. The best player for the winners was American forward Alysa Horn (182-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Sidney Parsons (168-87, college: Bridgeport) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four TSV Amicitia players scored in double figures. TSV Amicitia's coach Adrian Crawford felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Ana-Maria Kammer (179-86) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Aline Stiller (183-94) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. TSV Amicitia moved-up to third place in South, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Weiterstadt keeps the tenth position with four games lost. TSV Amicitia will face league's leader Bad Aibling on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Weiterstadt will play against Friendsfactory Germering (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
