Regular Season Round 2: Rilski Sportist - Levski 46-55
Date: October 27, 2013
Very significant was Levski's (#5) 55-46 road victory against Rilski Sportist. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 14-6. But Rilski Sportist won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Levski dominated on the defensive end, holding Rilski Sportist to just 6 points in first quarter. They also forced 22 Rilski Sportist turnovers. American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) notched 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Montenegrin center Natasa Popovic (192-82) supported her with 5 points and 17 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds by international center Stefka Miteva (191-89) did not help to save the game for Rilski Sportist. The former international Natalia Topalova-Shopova (186-80) added 10 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Levski will play against Montana 2003 (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Rilski Sportist will play against Dunav 8806 (#2) in Ruse to get more than just one victory in their record.
