Regular Season Round 4: TED Ankara - Istanbul Univ. 60-63

Bottom-ranked TED Ankara (0-4) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to fifth ranked Istanbul Universitesi (3-1) 63-60. TED Ankara cut a 13-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Istanbul Universitesi forced 19 TED Ankara turnovers. Strangely TED Ankara outrebounded Istanbul Universitesi 40-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for naturalized American forward Michelle Campbell (188-84, college: Rutgers) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Tugba Palazoglu (171-80) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Istanbul Universitesi's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center Marcedes Marie Walker (191-86, college: Pittsburgh, agency: LBM Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Kamile Nacickaite (180-89, college: Drexel) added 16 points in the effort for TED Ankara. Istanbul Universitesi moved-up to third place, which they share with Antakya. TED Ankara at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Istanbul Universitesi's next round opponent will be Canik Bld (#11) in Samsun and are hoping to win another game. TED Ankara will play on the road against the league's leader Galatasaray in Istanbul and hopes to get finally their first victory.
