Regular Season Round 9: Randers - Svendborg 65-89

Undefeated Randers (5-1) recorded its first loss at the home court. Hosts were rolled over by third ranked Svendborg (6-1) 89-65. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Randers. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. Randers was better in fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Svendborg shot 61.0 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) nailed 31 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) accounted for 17 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Five Svendborg players scored in double figures. American forward Bonell Colas (205-82, college: Florida) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and forward Casper Jorgensen (201-92) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Randers in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Svendborg. They moved-up to second place. Randers at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. Svendborg will play against Vaerlose (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Randers will play against Naestved (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
