Regular Season Round 3: Haskovo 2012 - Beroe 81-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Beroe's (0-2) road loss to Haskovo 2012 (2-1) 72-81. It looked good early as Beroe took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Haskovo 2012 had a 26-11 second period charge getting the lead and Beroe was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-81. They outrebounded Beroe 48-30 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American center Kenya McBee (192-83) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 20 rebounds. Guard Veronika Djikova (180-90) contributed with 8 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international center Vera Perostiyska (195-82, college: FIU) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Ivelina Vrancheva (175-80) added 12 points and 7 assists in the effort for Beroe. Four Beroe players scored in double figures. Haskovo 2012 will play against Neftochimic in Burgas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Beroe will play at home against Levski (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
