Regular Season Round 9: Vaerlose - Horsens IC 78-70

Bottom-ranked Vaerlose managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of three consecutive loses on Thursday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Horsens IC 78-70. Horsens IC trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 21-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-78 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for Vaerlose especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Troy Brewer (196-89, college: American) who scored 23 points and 4 assists. Icelandic Axel Karason (194-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Bosnian swingman Vedran Borovcanin (199-85) who recorded 30 points and 8 rebounds and international center Jonas Zohore Bergstedt (210-91) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Horsens IC's coach Arnel Dedic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaerlose (2-5) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Horsens IC and Falcon. Vaerlose will meet at home league's second-placed Svendborg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Horsens IC will have a break next round.
