Regular Season Round 7: NBC - Magdeburg 75-89

Magdeburg can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked NBC (3-4)on the road game in Nurnberg 89-75. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Magdeburg made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Kevin Wysocki (198-87) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds. American center Edward Seward (206-78, college: Norfolk St.) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Magdeburg players scored in double figures. Magdeburg's coach Dimitris Polychroniadis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Cornelius Adler (195-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Ahmad Smith (194-84, college: St.Bonaventure) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for NBC. Magdeburg (1-6) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with Karlsruhe. NBC at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with ETB Wohnbau and Gotha. Magdeburg will play against league's leader BV Chemnitz 99 on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. NBC will play against Finke Baskets (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
