Regular Season Round 6: Herner - Chemnitz 85-62

We should mention about the upset which took place in Herne, where higher ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (4-2) was outleveled in a road game by tenth ranked Herner TC (2-4) 85-62. The game without a history. Herner TC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Herner TC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 69.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American point guard Quenese Davis (177-88, college: San Diego St.) notched 13 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Serbian power forward Minja Terzic (188-79) supported her with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Herner TC players scored in double figures. Even 20 points by swingman Ireti Amojo (177-90, college: Washington St.) did not help to save the game for ChemCats Chemnitz. International point guard Tina Menz (175-88) added 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Herner TC moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted ChemCats Chemnitz dropped to the third position with two games lost. Herner TC's next round opponent will be Oberhausen (#11) on the road. ChemCats Chemnitz will play against TV Saarlouis Royals (#12) and hope to win that game.
