2.Bundesliga top team - Rotenburg/Scheessel (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Koeln (0-6) 92-56. The game without a history. Rotenburg/Scheessel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Rotenburg/Scheessel forced 22 Koeln turnovers and outrebounded them 51-33 including 20 on the offensive glass. Koeln was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Emma lina Stach (175-96) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Franziska Worthmann (186-86, college: Robert Morris) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Anne Storck (180) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Koeln. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rotenburg/Scheessel have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with 6-0 record. Newly promoted Koeln still closes the standings with six games lost. Rotenburg/Scheessel will face Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Koeln will play against Hagen Phoenix (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
