Regular Season Round 7: Telekom Bsk - ALBA 60-59

Date: November 2, 2013
A very interesting game took place in Bonn. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked ALBA Berlin (3-2) to third ranked Telekom Bsk (6-1) 60-59 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ALBA Berlin. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ALBA Berlin won fourth quarter 24-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely ALBA Berlin outrebounded Telekom Bsk 41-26 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jared Jordan (188-84, college: Marist, agency: Pro One Sports) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 7 assists. Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Canadian-Irish power forward Levon Kendall (209-84, college: Pittsburgh) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and FYR Macedonian guard Vojdan Stojanovski (194-87, agency: Beo Basket) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for ALBA Berlin. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Telekom Bsk. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Art.Dragons. ALBA Berlin at the other side keeps the ninth position with two games lost. Telekom Bsk's next round opponent will be Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#11) in Frankfurt and are hoping to win another game. ALBA Berlin will play at home against the league's leader Bayern Muenchen and hope to win that game.
