Regular Season Round 6: Rhein MB II - Mainz 70-74

Another exciting game for ASC Theresianum Mainz (3-3) which played in Langen against Rhein MB II (2-4). Seventh ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz won 74-70. Rhein MB II was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. ASC Theresianum Mainz dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Rhein MB II's 32. ASC Theresianum Mainz forced 19 Rhein MB II turnovers. Rhein MB II was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Bulgarian guard Gergana Georgieva (180-87) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Anna Delp (193) chipped in 12 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Nadine Ripper (175-88) with 29 points and Kristin Annawald (184-93) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. ASC Theresianum Mainz moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Sandhausen and Viernheim. Rhein MB II at the other side keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Wuerzburg and Weiterstadt. ASC Theresianum Mainz will play against Weiterstadt (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Rhein MB II will play against Fellbach and hopes to get back on the winning track.
