There was a surprise result when Yakin Dogu (1-1) crushed at home Nigde Turk Telekom (1-1) 83-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Yakin Dogu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Nigde Turk Telekom's 28. Yakin Dogu forced 28 Nigde Turk Telekom turnovers. Forward Gulnur Sandallioglu (187-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). point guard Tugba Gonen (170-90) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Yakin Dogu players scored in double figures. Mukaddis Aksoy (-91) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Nevriye Ozbinar (-93) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Nigde Turk Telekom. Nigde Turk Telekom's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Yakin Dogu will face Mersin Univ. (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Nigde Turk Telekom will play against Mulkiye and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
