Regular Season Round 7: NY Phantoms - Walter Tigers 83-88

An interesting game took place in Braunschweig where higher ranked New Yorker Phantoms (4-3) were upseton its own court by fifteenth ranked Walter Tigers (2-5) 88-83 on Saturday. New Yorker Phantoms were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Walter Tigers made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a great evening for point guard Jonathan Wallace (187-86, college: Georgetown, agency: Pro One Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 assists. Forward Tyrone Nash (203-88, college: Notre Dame) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Walter Tigers' coach Igor Perovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side center Kyle Visser (211-85, college: Wake Forest) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Five New Yorker Phantoms players scored in double figures. Walter Tigers moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Vechta and Bayreuth. Loser New Yorker Phantoms dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Walter Tigers will face higher ranked EWE Baskets (#4) in Oldenburg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
