Regular Season Round 7: Ludwigsburg - EWE Baskets 86-90

The game in Ludwigsburg was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked EWE Baskets (5-1) played at the court of 5th ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (4-3). EWE Baskets managed to secure a 4-point victory 90-86 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of EnBW Ludwigsburg. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-19. But EnBW Ludwigsburg won third quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. EWE Baskets made 31-of-35 free shots (88.6 percent) during the game. American point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South, agency: Pro One Sports) fired 22 points for the winners. Serbian power forward Nemanja Aleksandrov (210-87) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. American point guard C.J. Harris (191-91, college: Wake Forest) produced 23 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. EWE Baskets maintains fourth place with 5-1 record. EnBW Ludwigsburg at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with NY Phantoms and Ratiopharm. EWE Baskets will meet Walter Tigers (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against ratiopharm Ulm (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
