Regular Season Round 7: TBB Trier - Fraport SKY 75-85

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (3-4) defeated on the road higher ranked TBB Trier (3-4) 85-75 on Saturday. TBB Trier was trailing by 13 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-11 charge of Deutsche Bank Skyliners, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Canadian-American guard Andrew Rautins (193-86, college: Syracuse) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Danilo Barthel (207-91) helped adding 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (184-87, college: Wisconsin) responded with 29 points and 5 assists and Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (207-91, agency: LUMANI 10.7) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated TBB Trier. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will face higher ranked Telekom Bsk (#3) in Bonn in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
