Regular Season Round 7: MBC - Art.Dragons 71-76

Not a big story in a game in Weissenfels where 16th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (1-6) was defeated by second ranked Artland Dragons (6-1) 76-71 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Artland Dragons outrebounded Mitteldeutscher BC 34-23 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St., agency: Priority Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Cypriot power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 12 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Michael Cuffee (195-83, college: Middle Tenn.St.) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (203-89, college: USF) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Artland Dragons. They maintain second place with 6-1 record behind leader B.Muenchen, which they share with Telekom Bsk. Mitteldeutscher BC lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with six games lost. Artland Dragons will face TBB Trier (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against SC Rasta Vechta (#13) and hope to win that game.
