Regular Season Round 4: Banvit BK - Royal Hali 87-82

TBL top team - Banvit BK (4-0) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Royal Hali (1-3) in Balikesir 87-82. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-20. But Royal Hali won second period 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Banvit BK made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Royal Hali helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a quality performance of American-Bulgarian guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals and Dominican-American guard Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) who added 21 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Serkan Erdogan (190-78) responded with 24 points and Serbian power forward Oliver Stevic (204-84, agency: Beo Basket) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Banvit BK maintains first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Fener.Ulker. Royal Hali at the other side dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Banvit BK is looking forward to face Selcuk Universitesi (#9) in Konya in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Royal Hali will have a break next round.
