Regular Season Round 6: Oradea - ICIM Arad 66-96

Liga Nationala top team - ICIM Arad (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Oradea (1-4) 96-66. The game was mostly controlled by ICIM Arad. Oradea was better in fourth quarter 19-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ICIM Arad dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Oradea's 38. ICIM Arad forced 21 Oradea turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American players dominated the game. Guard Monica Engelman (180, college: Kansas) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Destiny Williams (185-91, college: Baylor) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five ICIM Arad players scored in double figures. ICIM Arad's coach Jose Araujo felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Shuanda Ashford (185, college: E.Carolina) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and swingman L'Oreal Joi Price (173-87, college: Fayetteville St.) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. ICIM Arad have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. Oradea at the other side keeps the tenth place with four games lost. They share the position with Timisoara. ICIM Arad will play against Brasov (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Oradea will play against Rapid in Bucuresti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
