Undefeated Rhein Main Baskets (5-1) recorded its first loss in Noerdlingen on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Donau-Ries (3-3) 67-55. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Rhein Main Baskets. They outrebounded Rhein Main Baskets 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Vanessa House (170-88, college: W.Virginia) who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Carina Hoegg (183) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Denise Beliveau (180-89, college: New Hampshire) who recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds and international forward Svenja Greunke (188-89) added 12 points respectively. Donau-Ries moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Osnabruck. Rhein Main Baskets at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with Wasserburg. Donau-Ries is looking forward to face Osnabruck (#6) on the road in the next round. Rhein Main Baskets will play against the league's second-placed TSV 1880 Wasserburg (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
